Welcome to our third class in the Junior Band series! In this 24-minute session, guided by the talented Melissa McCabe, we delve deeper into refining technique and enhancing body awareness. We recommend setting aside 30 minutes to fully benefit from the exercises and to allow time for repetition and refinement.

We begin with "Barre Refinement: Wrapping," where we continue to emphasise the importance of balancing the work between both sides of the body during barre exercises. By now, students should start feeling more confident in their ability to engage the supporting leg effectively, which is crucial as we prepare to transition more complex movements to the centre.

Our next focus is on "Enhancing Adage," a key exercise that continues to develop the use of resistance bands to reinforce muscle memory. This exercise encourages equal engagement of both sides of the body, helping students perform balanced, graceful movements naturally and with less conscious effort—an essential skill as they progress in their training.

We then revisit "Dégagé Control," an exercise designed to improve the precision and stability of the dégagé through focused repetition. By now, students should be able to maintain proper rotation with greater ease, using the deep external rotators more effectively to support controlled, accurate movements.

We conclude the class with a soothing "Warm Down." This exercise combines slow, flowing movements with targeted hamstring flexibility exercises, allowing students to gently cool down after their PBT session. This crucial cool-down aids in muscle release, preventing stiffness, and promoting recovery, ensuring that students maintain the flexibility and alignment they've worked on during the class.
