Fusion Ball

Welcome to Recovery Class 2 guided by Ella Roper. In today’s class we will be focusing on coordinating breath with movement to support mobility and improve mind-muscle connection.

We will begin with Fusion Release to improve spinal articulation for expansive port de bras. For this exercise, the Fusion Ball should be placed underneath the sacrum to support the spine as the dancer works on opening the sternum.

Our next exercise, Gentle Hip Unwind, offers a wonderful and important opportunity for dancers to release any tension in their hip flexors. The presence of the ball here will help to isolate the hips and deep rotators while activating the adductors.

Our final exercise, Upper Body Unwind, once again targets spinal mobility, using the Fusion Ball to enhance the dancer’s coordination while promoting fluid and mindful movement.

Tips:

Encourage dancers to activate their deep abdominals — even when stretching the spine.

Use the image of a string of pearls to promote spinal articulation.

Remind dancers to stretch within their individual range —the aim is to unlock their unique potential!
