Exercise Ball / Fit Ball

This is a very difficult exercise. The students will be working in to an arabesque and attitude position, which will help build strength and stability during adage.

Starting position: Have the student roll the mat to create foot support, lie face down on the Proball with the feet in coupé derrière touching the mat, hands on the floor.

Steps:

  1. Start by having the student lift the working leg into attitude.
  2. They will then extend the leg into arabesque.
  3. Have the student return the leg to attitude and move the body into a renversé.
  4. They will then bring the leg back to center, shift the weight forward onto the elbows, and lift higher into a penché.
  5. The student will then return to hand support, shift the body slightly forward, and lift both feet off the floor to perform a battu to switch legs.
  6. Repeat the full sequence with the other leg.
  7. They will relax the torso over the Proball to finish.
