Resistance Band (medium strength)

The students will be working the glutes, hamstrings, adductors and core in this exercise. It is really important to target all these areas to help build strength and power in our dancing.


Starting Position: The student will place the resistance band over both thighs and then wrop the band around the top of the thigh on each leg and the band will come between the legs. They will hold on to each end of the band and lie on to their side, knees are bent with the feet off the floor and the top arm is up to the ceiling.


steps:

  1. The student will clam open the knee 4 times.
  2. They will then clam and extend the leg away, bring the leg back in and close the knee down 4 times.
  3. Lowering the feet to the floor they will bring both arms forward and open the chest, in a spinal rotation. 2 times.
  4. Rolling on to their backs they will stretch legs forward and arms back, 4 times.
  5. Have the student roll to the other side and repeat the whole exercise.
