Resistance Band (medium strength)

Resistance Band (medium strength)

The students will be building strength in the adductors, core and deep rotators in this exercise. This exercise is great for working the external rotation and finding strength in turnout.

Starting Position: The students will place resistance band around the bottom of both feet and then cross the band at the front of the shins, holding the end of the band in each hand the student will lie down with the legs in the air in a parallel position.

Steps:

  1. The student will perform 2 openings of the legs then close the legs back to hip width apart.
  2. Repeat this 2 times.
  3. They will then repeat the exact same sequence with the legs externally rotated. 2 times through.
  4. Have the student repeat the whole exercise from the beginning, finishing with the legs parallel.
