Resistance Band (medium strength)

Resistance Band (medium strength)

This is a great exercise to challenge the students with their supporting sides, they want to make sure the standing leg/hip stays as stable as possible by activating the core.

Starting Position: The student will start by placing their foot on the resistance band and crossing it at the front, then at the back of the calf, and again at the front of the shin. They will then hold the end of the band in each hand and lie down on the floor with the wrapped leg crossed on top in a 5th position.

Steps:

  1. The student will bring the wrapped leg in to a coupe 2 times.
  2. They will then lift in to a full passé 2 times.
  3. Have the student developpé the leg to the ceiling.
  4. They will then lower and lift the leg back up.
  5. The student will then flex and point both feet and then enveloppé down.
  6. Repeat this once more from the beginning.
  7. The student will repeat the whole exercise from the top but will do it with the arms off the floor in a demi second position.
  8. To finish have them lie with the legs parallel along the mat.
