Resistance Band (medium strength)

Resistance Band (medium strength)

This is a great exercise for getting the students working their upper bodies but also incorporating spinal articulation.

Starting Position: Placing both feet on to the resistance band, hip width apart in a parallel position. The students will then take hold each end of the resistance band and stand tall.

Steps:

  1. The student will roll down through the spine.
  2. They will then do a spinal twist taking one hand up and bending the opposite knee. Repeat this on the other side.
  3. The student will roll back up and repeat this sequence again.
  4. They will then reach the arms to the ceiling and open the elbows wide, and roll back down through the spine.
  5. They will repeat this again.
  6. The student will then have both arms in the air and will reach down one side of the body and then the other.
  7. The student will repeat the exercise from the beginning.
  8. To finish they will roll forward holding on to their elbows gently swaying side to side.
