The students will be targeting the upper body in this exercise, particularly the rotator cuff and arms. During this exercise the students will find their centre through a single leg stance.

Starting Position: The student will stand with the legs hip width apart in a parallel position. They will wrap the resistance band around the the front of the rib cage and then cross it at the back and hold the ends in each hand.

Steps:

  1. The student will transfer their weight on to one leg.
  2. They will then open and close the forearms with the palms facing up 4 times.
  3. Have the student repeat this but they will open the arms out to a small 2nd each time. 4 times.
  4. They will then stand on both feet and open the arms to a ballet 2nd position 2 times.
  5. They will then repeat the whole exercise, standing on the other leg.
