This is a great exercise for the students to find their centre and co-ordination. This exercise will work the whole body and build strength through their supporting sides.


Starting Position: Holding the pro-ball the students will have the feet in a 5th position with their arms in front of their chest.


Steps:

  1. The student will stretch the front foot to the side in a 2nd position and lower the heel, taking the pro-ball above their head.
  2. They will then plié in 2nd and relevé up to a passé position. The arms are in 5th on the plié and at the chest when in passé.
  3. Have them repeat this 3 times.
  4. They will then lower the heel and grand rond de jambe the leg all the way to arabesque.
  5. The student will then close 5th behind and repeat the whole exercise on the other side.
  6. They will then roll the pro-ball forward and lengthen the hamstrings.
