Resistance Band (medium strength)

The students will be lengthening the torso, working the spinal articulation and getting a lovely hamstring stretch in this exercise.

Starting Position: The students will fold the resistance band in half and hold it in their hands. They are in a seated position with their legs are stretched out in front, externally rotated with the toes pointed.

Steps:

  1. The students will take their arms up towards the ceiling, overhead.
  2. They will then side bend to one side then the other.
  3. The student will then reach forward placing the band over the flexed foot.
  4. Have the student bring the knee in to an attitude position.
  5. They will then extend the leg straight forward, lowering the leg down they will fold forward over the leg.
  6. The student will repeat this twice on each side, 4 times altogether.
  7. To finish they will release the band and do a circle with the head.
