This exercise targets the vastus medialis muscle, crucial for knee alignment in allegro landings. It reinforces proper technique, reducing the risk of injury to the meniscus, so students can perform the movement with confidence.

Preparation: Equip students with a ¾ inflated fusion ball. Position the fusion ball between the knees to aid alignment. One hand is resting on the barre, slightly forward of the body.

Steps:

1. Start with the working left leg raised, legs parallel.

2. Bend the supporting knee and guide them through temps levés, focusing on aligned landings.

3. Perform 4 repetitions.

4. Switch the leg, repeating the process.

5. Follow with both feet in parallel, reinforcing the technique.

6. If you notice any imbalance, give extra attention to the weaker side.

Focus: Emphasise the importance of knee alignment and vastus medialis engagement.
