The students will be targeting the core and deep rotators in this exercise which will help improve turnout and give them the strength to sustain the turnout.

Starting Position: The students will loop one foot with the mini loop band then twist it into a figure of eight and place the other foot in the loop. They will begin lying down with knees bent parallel and the feet flat on the floor, the arms are down along the mat with the palms facing up.

Steps:

  1. The student will float the legs up in to a table top position.
  2. They will open and close the legs 4 times then will pulse open 4 times.
  3. Have them repeat this sequence in a turned out position.
  4. The student will then roll on to their side, knees bent and the body propped up on their elbow.
  5. They will open and close 4 times, then pulse 4 times.
  6. Have the student quickly role to the other side and repeat.
  7. The student will then role on to their back and repeat the whole exercise from the beginning.
  8. They will finish back in the starting position.
