Exercise Ball / Fit Ball

The student will be targeting foot and ankle strength in this exercise. They will be working the metatarsals and strengthening the mobility of the ankle. The student will also be stretching the hamstring in a safe way.

Starting Position: The student will begin by sitting the pro-ball knees and feet in a parallel position, hip width apart.

Steps:

  1. The student will start by playing the piano with their toes starting from the little toe.
  2. Repeat this 3 times through, then have the student lift all the toes off the floor.
  3. Repeat this twice through.
  4. The student will then place that ankle over the other thigh and circle the ankle twice.
  5. Have the student take hold of the ankle in the opposite hand and stretch the leg forward.
  6. The student will then repeat this exercise on the other side.
