This exercise is designed to reinforce the correct technique for non-weight bearing movements, crucial for preventing injuries associated with pronated landings. This exercise builds the necessary muscle memory, ensuring students can safely transition these movements into their classroom routines.

Preparation: Position students against the wall with a fit ball placed under their hip bones to support the spines elongation. This initial setup is vital for establishing correct posture and alignment.

Steps:

1. Have students start with the right foot pressing into the wall in a rotated fondu position, and the left foot placed on the lower calf muscle to prepare for the coupé fouetté movement.

2. Guide students to position the hands on the floor, slightly forward of the shoulders, allowing for correct alignment when propelling the body forward.

3. Instruct students to execute three coupé fouetté raccourci sautés, emphasising the propulsion from the wall for each jump and the importance of a secure landing through the metatarsals.

4. Cue students to follow each set of jumps with a temps levé, ensuring the vastus medialis is active to prevent pronation upon landing.

5. Instruct the students to repeat.

Focus: Highlight the necessity of maintaining an elongated spine and correctly aligned shoulders over the wrists to support the bodies propulsion and landing mechanics effectively.
