This exercise is designed to enhance the students ability to execute these dynamic movements with precision and control. Focusing on hip alignment, turnout, and propulsion, this exercise utilises the fit ball and the wall to simulate the sensation and technique required for leaps in a controlled environment, reinforcing the fundamentals of elevation and coordination.


Preparation: Position students with their hips centred on the fit ball and feet in fifth position against the wall. Ensure their feet align with their hips in order to maximise their turnout.


Steps:

1. Emphasise the use of imagery, encouraging students to perceive the wall as the floor to mentally prepare for the elevation.

2. Instruct students to start with their arms in front of the body on the floor, ensuring soft elbows, positioning the shoulders over the wrists as they propel forward with the fit ball.

3. Guide students to execute four jeté derrière followed by four jeté battu derrière.

4. Encourage students to repeat this sequence for reinforcement and muscle memory development.

Focus: Stress the importance of maintaining hip alignment and using the legs strength and turnout to achieve the propulsion necessary for both jeté and jeté battu.
