Fusion Ball

Fusion Ball

This exercise focuses on simultaneously activating core abdominal muscles and adductors while practising the movement used in batterie during allegro sections. These movements enhance core strength, coordination, and the ability to perform quick, dynamic leg movements essential for ballet.

Preparation: Start with students lying on the mat, legs in parallel, knees bent, and a fusion ball held above their heads.

Execution:

1. Instruct students to raise their legs to the tabletop position and then extend them to 90 degrees.

2. Guide them to raise their upper body, opening their legs sideways, and reach the ball through the legs.

3. Have them lower the body and beat their legs dynamically, first right-left, then repeat the opening and beating action left-right.

4. Proceed from the beginning including three quick beats: right-left-right, followed by left-right-left.

5. Once mastered, repeat the sequence in dorsi flexion.

Focus: Emphasise the importance of maintaining core engagement and controlled leg movement.
