Fusion Ball

Fusion Ball

This exercise is designed to enhance the refinement and alignment of legs and feet, fundamental in all dance forms. This exercise focuses on developing the line of the legs and feet, with an emphasis on controlled rotation and articulation. It aids in strengthening the muscles responsible for precise footwork and leg alignment, essential for dance techniques.

Preparation: Have students lie on the mat with a fusion ball placed between their upper calf muscles, starting in a parallel position.

Steps:

1. Instruct students to unfold their legs into a 90-degree angle and flex their feet.

2. Guide them through a slow rotation of the legs.

3. Emphasise that students articulate through the feet to stretch, then flex them.

4. Have students return legs to a parallel position and repeat.

5. For the third set, instruct students to include two demi pliés with flexed and stretched feet, adding an upper body raise and arms lifted with palms upwards.

6. Once students grasp the alignment and technique, repeat the exercise from the beginning.

Focus: Stress the importance of maintaining correct leg alignment and smooth foot articulation throughout the exercise.
