Welcome to Class 8! Guided by Pearl, this session offers an exciting opportunity to deepen your students’ strength, mobility, and artistry. While the class is designed for 36 minutes, we encourage setting aside 40 minutes to repeat exercises as needed. Building on the foundations established in Class 7, this class places special emphasis on core and torso work while refining arabesque alignment and renversé preparation.


Key areas of focus include:

Activating and strengthening the core to support balance and movement control.

Refining the alignment of arabesque and developing fluid transitions in renversé.

Enhancing upper body flow and coordination through dynamic port de bras work.

Concluding with a lengthening warm-down to restore alignment and flexibility.


Tips for Teachers:

Emphasise the importance of maintaining proper pelvic alignment and relaxed shoulders during torso and upper-body exercises.

During renversé practice, remind students to activate their supporting leg by grounding through the foot and maintaining alignment from hip to knee to ankle. This ensures stability and prevents unnecessary wobbling.

Remind students to self-regulate their flexibility stretches in the warm-down, ensuring they only stretch as far as is comfortable.
