Welcome to Class 8 with the wonderful Jenna Roberts! This session builds upon the work from Class 7, so it’s important that dancers feel confident with the previous material before moving forward.
In this class, the focus is on deepening torso engagement and refining arabesque alignment. Dancers will also work on external rotation, hip stability, and core strength—key elements for control and precision in advanced technique. Through a combination of targeted conditioning, balance work, and flexibility training, this session helps dancers develop both strength and fluidity in movement.
Teaching Tips:
Encourage dancers to maintain a strong and engaged core, especially in arabesque, to avoid pressure on the lumbar spine.
Use imagery and hands-on corrections to guide alignment and control.
Invite students to try a grand plié before and after the Wrapping in a Grand Plié exercise to help them feel the effect of the wrapping technique.
