The video for class 4 runs for 38 minutes, but it's a good idea to set aside 45-50 minutes. This extra time allows you to repeat the exercises as needed. Make sure your students go through class 3 at least twice before starting on class 4. This helps them feel confident and secure with the exercises.

This class focuses on becoming more aware of the deep abdominal muscles with an exercise called "Abdominal warm-up." Deep breathing is key here to maximize the benefits. The class also introduces more Adage movements, specifically the "écarté foundation." This movement relies on fully engaged deep abdominals and glutes, while turning the head to a side profile.

The exercise "Rectus abdominis and Adage" is essential for this class. The rectus abdominis helps move the body between the rib cage and pelvis and works with the external oblique muscles. This keeps the dancer's center of gravity stable during various movements. Class 4 also introduces "Fondu coordination," which trains the coordination of both legs not only for Adage movements but also for the allegro movement Ballonné. The class ends with stretches to release and relax the body.
