Before beginning this class, please ensure you or your students have completed Class 2 at least twice. The video for this class runs for 36 minutes, but we recommend allocating 45-50 minutes to fully engage with all exercises, allowing you time to repeat any as needed.
Class 3 commences with a lovely warm-up exercise, "Curl and Bridge," to ensure the body is prepared for many extension exercises in this class plan. The core and coordination are explored in the delightful exercise "Coordination and Obliques." The obliques are important in all forms of dance training as they involve so many movements; their effectiveness is dependent on a strong spine. As the body is very warm at this stage of the class, the students explore a deeper range of turnout in the "Corkscrew preparation," with the gentle pressing inwards of the fusion ball enhancing this activation. The "Foundation à la seconde" explores the importance of the hips remaining stacked and the turnout explored as the working leg moves without any compromise in the pelvis. This exercise is followed by "Breaking down Développé devant level 2," which explores a great awareness of pelvic alignment. This lovely class concludes with a series of stretches with the assistance of the long PBT resistance bands.
