Welcome to Class 9 with the wonderful Jenna Roberts, where we continue our journey through advanced exercises to refine strength, control, and artistry!
This session builds on the work from Class 8, further developing torso engagement and arabesque alignment. Dancers will also focus on endurance and core stability, particularly through stamina-building exercises like Jumping Jack. Foot articulation and precision become a key focus in Batterie Refinement, while Port de Bras Stability helps refine coordination by connecting breath, arm movement, and gaze. The class concludes with a Warm Down and Stretch to support recovery and flexibility.
Teaching Tips:
Use imagery and tactile corrections to reinforce torso engagement and arabesque placement.
Encourage dancers to maintain dynamic energy in batterie, focusing on quick, precise footwork.
Guide students to approach port de bras with breath awareness, allowing for greater control and expression.
Ensure dancers give full attention to the warm-down—it’s essential for injury prevention and maintaining mobility.
