Welcome to Junior Class 7, led by the talented Jenna Roberts. This class focuses on developing core strength, engaging the psoas, and activating the posterior muscles.The work is designed to enhance your technique for achieving a stronger arabesque, as well as improving your jumps and batterie.
Ensure your students are confident with the exercises from Junior Class 6 before attempting this session. The video runs for 36 minutes, but allow 40–45 minutes to give time for explanations, demonstrations, and repetition of key sections.
This session includes:
Core Activation and Iliopsoas Conditioning, promoting stability and strength for control.
Posterior Muscle Training, essential for enhancing arabesque, cambré, and powerful jumps.
Weight Placement and Transfer Exercises, which improve balance and coordination for dynamic movements.
Guide students to focus on alignment and avoid tension in the lower back. During Iliopsoas Conditioning, remind them that the goal is active conditioning rather than overstretching. Emphasise a feeling of elongation and controlled mobility in the exercises.
